FREE Vermont Tax Preparation Resources in 2023
For tax households that make $60,000 or less, dial 2-1-1 to make a free tax preparation appointment with a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer. Appointments are held at the University Mall in South Burlington. More information will be available mid-January.

IN-PERSON + DROP OFF OPTIONS
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/TCE –AARPAARP hosts free tax preparation services for the community, no income or age limits. However, if you have self-employment income or a complicated return, they might not be able to assist. AARP Tax-Aide Foundation online tax assistance: taxaideqa.aarp.org/hc/en-us.
United Way’s MyFreeTaxes.com
United Way provides the only free tax filing online platform supported by a nonprofit that allows taxpayers of any age to file both federal and up to 3 state tax returns for free. There are no income limits to use this platform for simple returns. Visit MyFreeTaxes.com to begin. Self-file only.
