Community is built on partnerships.
As a trusted, neutral facilitator, United Way is often called upon to convene and facilitate community conversations with diverse stakeholders to find solutions to urgent and complex problems. This often results in action groups, new initiatives and long-term systems change efforts. We understand that community is built on partnerships and long-term change requires all of us working together. Our current special initiatives include:
Mental Health Initiative
United Way’s multi-year Mental Health Initiative is working to improve Vermonters’ timely access to appropriate mental health services. MHI is bringing the region together to strengthen the system of care by focusing on three initiative priorities: addressing Vermont’s critical labor shortage of mental health providers, strengthening and aligning resources for suicide prevention and responding to the rise in youth mental health needs.
