Give A Gift With Impact
Gifts of Cash or Stock
Cash or stock gifts are the simplest ways to support your interests and it gives United Way the opportunity to use your gift immediately and your tax benefits are immediate. Direct gifts of stock may be initiated through your broker as an annual or lifetime gift.
If you wish to make a bequest to United Way of Northwest Vermont you may make provisions in your will. You may wish to leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate or the residuum of your estate to United Way.
Making or updating your will is easier than you might imagine. United Way Worldwide has partnered with FreeWill.com to give you a free, uncomplicated way to write your will in about 20 minutes. All you will need to do is have it notarized. When utilizing the FreeWill.com service, you can specify that you would like to leave a gift to United Way of Northwest Vermont.
The gift of a retirement account is one of the easiest planned gifts to make and requires no legal or accounting assistance. You simply change the primary or contingent beneficiary on your account or name the organization as a co-beneficiary along with your heirs. The gift fulfills some or all of the individual’s Minimum Required Distribution(RMD) for that year and is exempt from the income tax that would normally be due on the RMD.
Charitable Gift Annuities are one of the most popular forms of planned giving and can offer tax advantages as well as life income for the donor or a named income beneficiary. A CGA is a contract between the investor and United Way of Northwest Vermont, in which the investor makes an irrevocable gift to the United Way, and in return the United Way pays the investor a fixed income for life. Upon the death of the investor, the amount remaining comes to United Way of Northwest Vermont.

If preferred, you may remain anonymous and your gift will be kept confidential, but knowledge of your gift will enable us to better plan for the future.
