Time is a precious gift.
Foster Grandparents help children with critical needs by providing the attention, comfort and nurturing that sets a child on the path toward a successful future.
The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program is a unique volunteer program that provides an opportunity for individuals 55 and older to remain engaged in the community by helping guide students to higher academic achievement. Participants may qualify for a modest stipend.
Foster Grandparent volunteers help children learn through a variety of ways:
- Serve as role model to children in early childhood education centers, K-12 schools, youth facilities and other locations.
- Provide one-to-one support to children and/or teens with exceptional needs to improve their academic, social, or emotional development.
- Share their compassion and wisdom with children throughout Northwest Vermont.
You can make a difference in the life of a child! To learn more about the Foster Grandparent Program, please contact Trezanra Robertson at trezanra@unitedwaynwvt.org, or at (802) 861-7823.
United Way of Northwest Vermont is a proud grantee of AmeriCorps Seniors. We receive funding from them to operate our Foster Grandparent Program.
