Common Good Vermont Announces 2024 Vermont Nonprofit Wages & Benefits Survey

South Burlington, VT: Common Good Vermont is pleased to announce the Vermont launch of the 2024 Survey on Nonprofit Wages and Benefits. Survey results will inform the bi-annual Vermont Nonprofit Wages and Benefits report, which will be published in the fall of 2024, and is the only Vermont-specific resource for nonprofit organizations to use for objective salary information and insights into key sector staffing and compensation trends.

“Vermont nonprofits are on the front lines of the community’s greatest challenges, but they are often under-resourced. The Nonprofit Wages and Benefits Survey provides an essential tool to advocate for and strengthen Vermont’s nonprofit sector. It also offers nonprofit organizations useful information to help address workforce challenges that impact their ability to provide critical services Vermonters rely on,” said Common Good Vermont Director Martin Hahn.

Vermont nonprofits employ about 69,000 people, or 1 in 7 workers, contributing about $5.7 billion per year to the economy.

“We strongly encourage Vermont nonprofits of all sizes and missions to participate in the survey. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and representative the data will be,” said Hahn.

To encourage widespread participation, Common Good Vermont is offering the following benefits to nonprofits who participate in the 2024 Wages and Benefits Survey:

  • A free copy of the 2024 Vermont Wages and Benefits Report. Non-participants will be able to purchase the report for $200.
  • All participants will enter a raffle to win prizes including spa vouchers, gift cards, free learning opportunities with Common Good Vermont, and more.
  • Most importantly, nonprofits who participate in the survey will contribute to a stronger final report that will benefit Vermont’s entire nonprofit sector.

Several Vermont nonprofits who have participated in the survey and used the Nonprofit Wages and Benefits Report in the past attest to its value.

“Vermont Works for Women relies on the biennial Nonprofit Wages and Benefits Survey to make sure we are paying our staff fairly and competitively. Each time it comes out, we use it to analyze and adjust our pay bands. The best part is we get this amazing resource for free when we spend time answering the survey that the report draws from,” said Vermont Works for Women Director of Finance and Operations Suzanne Eikenberry.

“Our organization is committed to pay equity, wage transparency and paying a livable wage. When hiring for Dad Guild’s first paid positions, Common Good Vermont’s Nonprofit Wages and Benefits Report provided us with the data and information we needed to make informed decisions when establishing initial compensation rates,” said Dad Guild Executive Director Keegan Albaugh.

The survey is conducted every two years in partnership with the Maine Association of Nonprofits and the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits.

The Nonprofit Wages and Benefits Survey will be open through May 24, 2024. For more information or to participate in the survey visit https://commongoodvt.org/jobs/wages-and-benefits-report/.
