Opportunities Credit Union and United Way of Northwest Vermont Announce 5.00%* Change for Good 6 Month CD
Opportunities Credit Union (OCU) is proud to offer a 5.00%* Change for Good 6 Month CD to benefit local Vermonters. When customers open this CD, they will earn 2.5% interest and United Way of Northwest Vermont will earn 2.5%, too.
“Opening a Change for Good CD is a wonderful opportunity for Vermonters to build financial stability for themselves and their community. We are so excited for this partnership and thankful to Opportunities Credit Union for their commitment to making our communities stronger,” said United Way of Northwest Vermont Chief Development Officer Liz Gamache.
United Way brings local people together to work on local solutions to our community’s greatest challenges. In 2023, UWNWVT is investing $6.5 million in local organizations, strategic initiatives, and its own programs to address five key priorities: Promoting Mental Health, Supporting Families, Meeting Basic Needs, Reducing Substance Misuse, and Fostering Financial Stability. Community giving makes this work possible.
“United Way and OCU both have long histories of fostering community connections to uplift low-income and underserved Vermonters. OCU greatly appreciates the work that United Way has done in the fields of mental health and substance abuse prevention as well as expanding access to health and human service resources for Vermonters. Creating the Change for Good 6 Month CD felt like a natural way to further United Way’s local impact while improving the financial stability of Vermonters and our community,” said OCU’s CEO Kate Laud.
