Green Mountain Solar is a full-service custom renewable energy solution provider, offering solar arrays, battery backup, heat pumps and EV chargers, from initial system design through to project management and installation. GMS was founded in 2017 with a firm commitment to its customers and to a more sustainable future for Vermont.
It is with this customer-first mindset that GMS has grown to being recognized as Vermont’s 2024 Best Renewable Energy Company in VT Biz’s Best of Business Awards. GMS takes an educational and no-pressure approach so our customers can make informed decisions as they embark on their renewable energy journeys.

Why is being connected to the community important to your business?
- As a solar company, it is our mission to create a brighter future for our customers, and for the communities in which they live. We do this by educating the community on alternative, renewable energy solutions, that can directly help Vermonters to save money on their electricity bills and gain energy independence, while also making a positive impact on the environment. Connecting with the community allows us to share our deep expertise in solar and renewables in the hopes of creating that brighter future for all.
Why is your United Way partnership important to you?
- The United Way supports numerous organizations that are helping Vermonters create a brighter future. Whether that’s helping to address VT’s housing crisis or providing educational resources to Vermonters, there is great alignment in the values of these programs with GMS’s mission. We are excited to support United Way in bringing funds directly to the causes that need it most in VT and look forward to partnering to educate Vermonters on how to access and benefit from renewable energy solutions in their lives.
