Martin Hahn Hired as New Director of Common Good Vermont

South Burlington, VT: United Way of Northwest Vermont (UWNWVT) is pleased to announce the hiring of Martin Hahn as the new Director of Common Good Vermont (CGVT), a statewide program dedicated to uniting and strengthening Vermont’s nonprofit sector.

Hahn replaces CGVT’s long-time leader, Morgan Webster, who was instrumental in expanding the organization’s statewide impact and growing the investment in the capacity of Vermont’s nonprofits.

In this role, Hahn will lead and manage CGVT to support Vermont nonprofits through a variety of programs, including nonprofit advocacy, workforce development training, and technical assistance. Hahn brings with him decades of experience serving Vermont communities as a nonprofit leader.

“I have admired Common Good Vermont’s work supporting nonprofits and educating new leadership for several years. Vermont nonprofits are on the front lines of the community’s greatest challenges, but they are often under-resourced. I’m honored to join Common Good Vermont and am eager to help elevate the great work that is happening around Vermont,” Hahn said.

Hahn will be working in collaboration with CGVT Manager of Policy and Strategic Initiatives Emma Paradis and CGVT Manager of Learning and Education Lisa Grefe. Prior to joining Common Good Vermont, Hahn was the executive director of the Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness. Previously, he was the housing director at the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board and the executive director at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier and Downstreet Housing & Community Development. He has served on numerous boards and is currently the treasurer of Good Samaritan Haven in Barre. Martin lives in Barre with his family.

“United Way’s nonprofit partners are doing incredible work every day, connecting our families, friends, and neighbors to essential resources. We are thrilled to welcome Martin as the new leader of Common Good Vermont and excited to collaborate with him in building upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessor and the Common Good team as we work to uplift and strengthen Vermont’s nonprofits and support the people who make their work possible,” said UWNWVT CEO Jesse Bridges.

Hahn and the CGVT team look forward to growing their work in support of Vermont’s nonprofit sector in 2024, including hosting a Nonprofit Legislative Day on January 25. To learn more about Common Good Vermont, visit Commongoodvt.org.
