Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable account sponsored by a public charity that donors use to support their philanthropy. DAF donors make irrevocable, tax deductible contributions of cash, securities or other assets to the public charity sponsoring the DAF in the donor(s)’ name.

If you make a gift through your DAF, please email Ayeshah Raftery at ayeshah@unitedwaywnvt.org or call 802-861-7831 to let us know you’ve made a gift. We do not always receive donor information from the Fundholder, so this helps us confirm donor intent and send you recognition for your gift.

Making a Planned Gift with your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

If you have a DAF, or decide to establish one, consider designating United Way of Northwest Vermont as a successor-in-interest and gifting some or all of the remaining assets in your fund to go to United Way after your lifetime, similar to making a beneficiary designation.

When you have made United Way of Northwest Vermont a successor-in-interest on your DAF, please inform us of your intentions by emailing Ayeshah Raftery at ayeshah@unitedwaywnvt.org. Sharing information about your plans ensures that your wishes are understood by United Way.
