United Way hires Sarah Allerton of St. Albans to Working Bridges team
South Burlington, VT: United Way of Northwest Vermont has hired Sarah Allerton as Working Bridges Resource Coordinator. In her new role, Sarah will work with employers in the Working Bridges Employer Collaborative, connecting with local employees at their work sites. This initiative seeks to improve access to key programs and services while simultaneously improving the underlying systems and policies to address life challenges that get in the way of being successful at work.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Vermont. Her previous experience includes almost 20 years as a librarian, most of which was spent as the Children’s Librarian at the St. Albans Free Library. There she was responsible for implementing and assisting with all aspects of library services, including patron advisory for research, cataloging, collection development, circulation, readers’ advisory, and programming. She also recently held a position at the St. Albans Town Educational Center in the Library Media Center, where she connected students and staff with a large variety of library services.
“I am the newest Resource Coordinator for the Working Bridges arm of this amazing organization,” said Sarah. “I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a dedicated group of people to make a direct and tangible impact on the lives of people in our communities.”
Sarah lives in St. Albans, Vermont, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, reading, hiking, camping and spending time outdoors.
“We are extremely excited to add Sarah to the dynamic United Way team,” said Jesse Bridges, CEO of United Way of Northwest Vermont. “Working Bridges is a key initiative for UWNWVT in the year ahead as we seek to address all our key strategic priority areas. This innovative initiative is growing using United Way’s longstanding belief that we can achieve great things together as a community using the workplace as a platform for change.”
